My boss. He's totally my hero. :D

I kinda think the frustration of my last journal needed to come away around the holidays.

In a way I guess I just had to back off from the annoyance and upset feeling I was starting to get about the Inuyasha fandom and, y'know... it gave more time to focus on important things going on in real life. I with I could react to the fanart situations more "professionally," but it's something I did for fun and it just slowly became... not so fun. ^^ That was just discouraging.

Either way, though... I truly am sorry that I couldn't reply to everyone personally to send you my thanks and appreciation for your kind thoughts, whether it was about the artwork here or ET in general. It really does mean a lot and I thank you all for it.

Anyway, I couldn't let December go by without wishing everyone a happy holiday season. :)

So my best wishes to all for 2007, and I hope the new year brings some happiness and great opportunities for everyone.

Okay, I'm tired of this.

I remember the days when I actually used to ENJOY drawing Inuyasha, and used to ENJOY sharing it with people. I still do, but the amount of enjoyment doing fanart has given me recently is basically shriveled up into a very tiny fraction of what it used to be.

I see my art used all over the goddamn internet -- my name cropped out, claimed as someone else's, blah-blah-blah. I wouldn't be so upset if it didn't happen SO FRIKKEN' MUCH. Especially with my Sibling Rivalry series.

I see my art being used to make bootleg goods. I've even heard some people made prints of my stuff and sold them at conventions, saying it was on my behalf, because I couldn't show up. Um, no. And to tell the truth, THIS sort of thing hurts more than the kids who just use my artwork in their little ripfests, and crop them to make into wallpapers or reclaim them on their little fansites.

And now my own work is being taken down off of DA because some idiots report ME as stealing MY OWN work? A few weeks ago, "Unleashed" was reported as a violation, and today, "Moment of Peace." Heh, I should have known this was going to happen; guess it was only a matter of time.

I submitted my inquiry into this, stating that both pieces are my own, but I have very little faith in how "responsive" DA is to handling stuff like this.

For reference, I own two websites, and post my artwork on them. One is my Inuyasha website, the other is my Final Fantasy website.

INUYASHA: [link]
FINAL FANTASY: [link]

So then. THAT'S whyI haven't drawn a lot of Inuyasha in the past few months. I already know my stuff is going to be used/abused in ways I don't like, so basically, why should I even bother anymore?

I used to love drawing Inuyasha, and I still do. :P But I no longer feel like posting it to the public and sharing it with everyone. When stuff like this continues to happen, drawing it and keeping it in my own sketchbook for myself or the people it was for is enough for me.

I'm not here for a pityfest... usually (and even now), I'm trying to turn away from stuff like this, and just focus on staying positive. It just irritates me enough so that, again, something that I used to see as an enjoyable hobby and a chance to share with friends, was ruined.

I still thank those of you who took the time to ever comment and share my work with others in a respectful way. I never minded it if people printed things out to use on their school binders, or hang on their walls. I am deeply flattered when people say they use a picture I drew as inspiration or as an unaltered desktop. I don't mind when it's used respectfully. I know for every few times a bad situation comes up, there still were, are, and will be, wonderful people and friends. That's something I'll always appreciate that more than words could ever express. :)

First of all...

Thank you to everyone who has commented on latest happenings on Ear-Tweak. Yeah, I have my reasons for pushing the site in the direction it's going now. Of course, DA isn't the place I want to really bring up my explainations.

But either way, thank you everyone, for all of your kindness and support. It really does mean a WHOLE lot. :D

Second.

So. Zidane headbutted Materazzi. XDDDD And I don't know if it's actually kinda sad that that's basically one of the things he (and the 2006 World Cup) will be remembered by.

But how dorky am I that...

1. I saw the name "Zidane" and thought, "since when does the sports world care about Final Fantasy?" XD (Okay, I knew they were talking about Zinedine Zidane, but my FF9-Zidane-centric brain still couldn't help but think that way...)

2. I immediately though how hilarious it would be for SE to make a Final Fantasy Zidane game spin-off, where he Dynes into a pink, jersey-clad monkeything and starts ramming his head into everything.

3. Or better yet, Zidane vs. Tidus in the ultimate game of Blitzball. Every time Zidane looses, he headbutts Tidus into oblivion.

4. I giggle at the fact that every Final Fantasy board I've been on has linked to the now-infamous GIF combining FF9-Zidane's command box and statbar with the headbutt footage.

5. I would give anything to see FF9-Zidane headbutt Kuja into the ground. :D :D :D I need to draw that. Like, now.

...okay, I need to go to sleep now.

Hehe, I love you guys. ^__^

Anyhow, I'm just curious. I know a lot of people found me through my Inuyasha fanart, but since I also had a mix of Final Fantasy 9 fanart early on when I first joined, and just recently started putting up some FF fanart again....

Who here is also a fan of Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts?

Because I swear if there's one thing that I adore as much as Inuyasha, it's Final Fantasy. The entire series just rocks my world. :D

Anyway... if you're an FF fan:

1. What's your favorite game of the series?
2. Who's your favorite character?
3. What is your favorite song of the series?

For me...

1. Final Fantasy 9, because of all the games, I played that one fully through first. I played FF7 back in 1996 when it first got released, and for some reason it didn't hold my attention back then. But FF9 totally grabbed me.

2. Zidane Tribal. He's my boy!! ^___^ I love his kindhearted personality and the fact that he's such a darn flirt. XD Plus I never realized it until just recently when I was playing a new round of FF9, but he's the strongest character in gameplay, without any HP+ abilities equipped. And he's just the cutest thing pixels could ever coagulate into. Really. XD

3. "Melodies of Life." That song is, y'know... it's almost a religious experience hearing it. Earlier in the year we went to a concert in Yokohama, where Emiko Shiratori performed this live, and it was like a faucet turned on. That song was SO powerful... it was amazing.

So there you have it. ^__^

And for the Kingdom Hearts fans... XD What Final Fantasy character out of all the FF characters that have NOT been in KH, KH:CoM, or KH2, would utterly kick ass in Kindom Hearts? And why?

Characters who were already in the KH series:

Cloud (FF7)
Sephiroth (FF7)
Squall (FF8)
Aeris (FF7)
Cid Highwind (FF7)
Yuffie (FF7)
Paine, Rikkyu, Yuna (FFX-2)
Wakka (FF10)
Auron (FF10)
Tidus (FF10)
Vivi (FF9)
Raijin & Fujin (FF8)
Seifer (FF8)
Selphie (FF8)
Setzer (FF6)

My top three choices were Red XIII, Zidane Tribal, and Vincent Valentine. Becuase, y'know... they rock. Red XIII redesigned for Kingdom Hearts would be utter love. XD And so would Zidane. OMG, Zidane would look SO like he belonged there!

But the one thing I'd totally be afraid of is when his character is totally bastardized, like they did to Vivi. That and it would be SO weird hearing him with a voice. Because right now I totally imagine him sounding like Kappei Yamaguchi, and no one else can really convince me that Kappei WOULDN'T be a kickass Zidane. ^__^

Speaking of Kappei... OMG, he rocks my world. And he totally knows he does, too. XD
