"Zidane!"
"I was called that once. A lot of people called me that. But I am... just... an empty shell..."
One of my favorite sequences of Final Fantasy 9, which is called "you're not alone," inspired this piece. (Game spoilers, for anyone anal about that kind of stuff...) Garland tells Zidane that he was born to be an "Angel of Death," sent to bring the downfall of Gaia into war and death. When faced with the truth of why he was brought into the world, Zidane almost lost his way.
Except that... he wasn't alone. There were people around him who let him know that he would never be alone. It was one of his darkest moments in the game; an uncommon moment of dispair for someone who was normally a sweet and lighthearted person.
But we loves the monkey-tailed bandit, we do!! *tugs on Zidane's tail*
That's why he'll always be my favorite character of all time.

Incidentally, I may never draw feathery wings... ever... again... XDDD

Anyways you did a nice job with this and even have a well thought out background. The wings themselves are very nice as well and I see nothing wrong with them. But yes, they do take time to draw, especially feathered wings.
